Metallica is a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1981.
They have great commercial success, selling 100 million albums worldwide to date. It was created by drummer Lars Ulrich. He had published an ad in a local newspaper ad that led to the formation of the group. Metallica stock consists of Ulrich, James Hetfield and guitarist Kirk Hammett, and bassists have changed. Currently the position is owned by Robert Trujillo.
